当代中国社会生活资料中心成立于2011年10月,是复旦大学社会发展与公共政策学院的学术共享与学科发展平台。现任中心主任为张乐天教授。


2012年11月,中心与美国洛杉矶加州大学(UCLA)当代中国研究中心合作设立“复旦大学-UCLA社会生活比较研究中心”,进一步推动国际合作研究的开展。

中心成立伊始,即与江苏省吴江市政府、江苏省东海县政府、浙江省海宁市盐官镇政府、上海市共和新路街道、上海市文广集团(上海音像资料馆)等单位签署了合作协议,共同建设中国社会生活资料库,并与中国社会科学院当代中国研究所、贵州民族大学、海南研究院、中国收藏家协会票证专业委员会等国内机构建立起协作关系。

  

一、资料收集与出版

经过五年来的努力,中心已经抢救、搜集和整理了100多批社会生活类资料,收集的地域范围涉及20多个省市,侧重收集长江流域、钱塘江流域的民间资料,目前馆藏资料已在全国同类型机构中名列前茅。

张乐天主任中标2012年国家社会科学基金重大项目“当代苏浙赣黔农村基层档案资料搜集、整理与出版”。中心以此为契机,联合复旦大学图书馆、复旦大学出版社、博睿(Brill)学术出版社合作整理、出版馆藏资料,自2017年起共同推出由张乐天教授主编的《当代中国社会生活资料长编》,为下一步深化研究打下良好的基础。


张乐天教授主持的《当代中国农民的脚印——浙北村落五十年》八卷本,已经获得上海文化发展基金与国家出版基金项目资助,近期将由复旦大学出版社出版。


张乐天教授组织团队,在法国高等社会科学研究院(École des hautes études en sciences sociales France)的支持下,编辑完成了电子出版物《中国田野调查——张乐天联民村数据库》(http://www.zltfieldwork.com)。该数据库包括了详细的调查资料,还录制大量的村民访谈资料,拍摄众多的图片和录像,首次全方位展现半个多世纪以来浙江北部一个普通村落的生活场景与生命历程。数据库于2015年由中国社会科学文献出版社正式向国内外发行。


 

二、组织管理

本中心实行主任领导下的机构负责制。中心下设两个机构。分支机构具体职能如下:

(一)、中国社会生活资料馆

设计资料分类体系,对资料加以修复与整理,组织书信整理与研究工作坊,利用数字化手段建设数据库,为学者利用馆藏资料提供服务。

(二)、学术研究室

开展学术研究,推动校内外学术交流,招聘博士后,组织社会生活研究工作坊,出版《复旦大学当代中国社会生活资料中心项目简报》。

Introduction to Contemporary China Social Life Data and Research Center,Fudan University(CCSLC)

Established on October 2011, the Contemporary China Social Life Data and Research Center (CCSLC) is the platform for School of Social Development and Public Policy to share academic achievements and enhance disciplinary development. The center’s director is Professor Zhang Letian.

With the aim to further enhance international cooperative studies, CCSLC and UCLA Contemporary China Study Center co-founded Fudan-UCLA Joint Center for Comparative Studies of Social Life in November 2012.

At the beginning of its foundation, the center had entered into cooperative contracts with many partners such as the municipal government of Wujiang in Jiangsu Province, county government of Donghai in Jiangsu Province, Gonghexin Road subdistrictoffice in Shanghai, Shanghai Media Group (Shanghai Audio Visual Archives), and they co-built up Contemporary China Social Life Database. Also, the center fostered cooperative relationships with many domestic organizations such as the Institute of Contemporary China Studies affiliated to Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Guizhou Minzu University, Hainan Institute, Coupon Committee affiliated to China Association of Collectors.

  

    Ⅰ. Material Collection and Publication

After five years’ efforts, the Center has saved, collected and classified more than 100 kinds of materials about social life from over 20 different provinces and cities, especially in Yangtze River Basin and Qiantang River Basin. And its holdings ranks top among similar institutions.

In 2012, Director Zhang won the bidding in the project “China’s Contemporary Rural Grassroots Archive Collection, Classification and Publication”, a key project funded by national social science fund. Taking it as an opportunity, the Center has made a joint effort with Fudan University library, Fudan University Press, Brill Academic Publisher to enhance holdings collating and publishing. And in 2017, they together published Chronicles of Contemporary Chinese Social Lifeedited by Professor Zhang Letian in the hope of laying a solid foundation for further study.

 Having won financial support from Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation and National Publication Foundation, the eight volumes of The Footprint of Contemporary Chinese farmers--Fifty Years of Villages in Northern Zhejiang Province will be published by Fudan University Press in the near future.

Under the support of École des hautes études en sciences socials France, Professor Zhang’s team has successfully edited electronic publication: Chinas fieldwork-Zhang Letians Database of Lianmin Village (http://www.zltfieldwork.com)The database contains detailed survey materials, interview materials, and lots of picture and video materials, which will, for the first time, show to audiences the life scenes and courses of an ordinary village in Northern Zhejiang Province throughout half a century. And it is issued in home and abroad by China Social Sciences Academic Press in 2015.

  

Ⅱ. Organization and Management

The Center shall be governed by institution accountability system under the leadership of director. There are two affiliated institutions with different responsibilities as follows:

    1. China Social Life Archive

It is responsible for the design of the material classification system, material restoration and arrangement, letter arrangement and workshop organization, as well as digital database construction so as to serve scholars.

     2. Academic Research Center

It conducts academic research, promotes academic exchanges in and off campus, enrolls post-doctors, and organizes social life research workshop, as well as publishes
