主要从事医学人类学、城市社区和商业民族志研究，承担国家社科基金和教育部人文社科重点基地项目和哈佛大学亚洲中心老龄化和护理实践等国内和国际研究项目。2002年获得美国哈佛大学人类学博士学位。2002-2005年在美国乔治敦大学和霍普金斯高级国际研究院（SAIS）任教。2006年以后在复旦大学社政学院先后任副教授、教授。主要著作有：《政策人类学》（2016）、《当代人类学十论》（2012）、《发展人类学概论》（2009）、Neighborhood Shanghai（2007），Deep China (with Arthur Kleinman et al.)等。
科研方向（Research Interests）：
医学人文与健康实践；上海城市社区重构与公共记忆；商业人类学应用研究。
